Embarking on our Sustainability Journey
On 28th October, ALMARC Engineering marked the beginning of its Sustainability Journey with a simple yet meaningful kick-off event, attended by all employees. The event announced ALMARC’s commitment to integrate sustainable practices in its business operations and practices, and the collective role of all employees.
The kick-off event began with a brief welcoming address by MD Alvin Cher. This was followed by a presentation by our Admin Manager, Ms Fanny Teo, highlighting the reasons for and the importance of sustainability for the company’s future. She highlighted ALMARC’s desire to reduce its carbon footprint, enhancing resource efficiency and fostering a culture of co-responsibility among all colleagues. Other specific messages shared included renewed effort in water & waste reduction and recyclables. Employees were advised of the impact their daily actions have on the company’s overall carbon footprint and were encouraged to take an active role in the company’s sustainability initiatives. To underscore ALMARC’s commitment to its sustainability journey, the company’s Vision and Mission have also been revised to clearly reflect the priority.
The messages were generally well received, marking a positive start to ALMARC’s effort to become a greener and stronger business. To symbolise the launch, employees participated in an activity to populate ALMARC’s ‘Sustainability Commitment Tree’. All colleagues added leaves to the Tree with supportive messages for the sustainability effort. This Tree will serve as a portrayal of our dedication to the journey and stands as a reminder of the commitment shared by both the company and employees to make sustainability a key part of ALMARC’s identity.
This launch is just the beginning. More initiatives will follow, to embed sustainability in ALMARC’s business. This journey will build on our well-regarded product quality, reliability and dependability, ensuring a positive impact on our customers and a more sustainable future for all.
